PROFESSOR Gisèle Venet is Professor Emerita at the Sorbonne University and the author of many critical editions of Shakespeare’s plays. She has edited and supervised the latest bilingual edition of Shakespeare’s Complete Works in the Pleiade series for the prestigious French publisher Gallimard (with translator Jean-Michel Déprats). She also wrote Temps et vision tragique: Shakespeare et ses contemporains in which she explores the baroque aspects of Shakespeare’s works and is currently working on a study of the comedies entitled “Shakespeare and the Poetics or Irreverence”.

Cecilia Dorland  is a stage director, the founder and Artistic Director of London-based classical theatre company Scena Mundi. Cecilia directed many productions of Shakespeare’s plays, among which the critically acclaimed Richard II in 2015 and Twelfth Night in the spring of 2016. A graduate of the The Central School of Speech and Drama where she took an MA in Classical Acting, Cecilia is of dual English and French nationality and has worked as a Lecturer at University College London and the Globe Theatre. She is also a scholar in English Renaissance literature and studied English at La Sorbonne in Paris before passing the “Agregation” in English.
